Part of the motivation for this illustration was to create a new avatar for some forums I visit. To give it enough impact at low resolution (around 100 pixels wide) I needed to keep the contrast high and the line art thick.
Image was hand drawn and inked, then cleaned up and coloured in Paint Shop Pro.

I was asked to give the existing logo a slight re-design ahead of the start of the 2009 season, whilst staying close to the current colours.
